Happy Hour With Moorooroo | Cellar Door Life

Cellar Door Life

Our routines are slowly returning back to normal as the Cellar Door has re-opened and as the demands of vineyard management resume.

Pruning has begun in our vineyards starting with our home block Lotties Shiraz. Vintage 2020 ended up presenting very new and unique challenges. COVID-19 forced us to asses our normal processes and learn new ways to prioritise health and safety. At the same time we had to ensure that we are able to present a slate of 2020 wines. This is especially important with reports of many vineyards yielding up to 50% below the 10 year average! We’re very excited that in a year that presented low yield, high quality conditions, our Lotties vineyard actually produced a significant increase over 2019! This means we can look forward to our 2020 wines being bountiful in both flavour and quantity. We’ll be tasting 2020 Lotties Shiraz about this time 2024, so put a note in your calendar.

We’re excited to be back in Cellar Door, as a step towards returning to normalcy, an opportunity to see some of you in person and a brand new layout that has inspired new experiences. We’re also happy that we got to do some of those projects that small businesses just never have time to do. Some Cellar Door maintenance as well as some exciting super secret projects that we’ll be announcing soon!

With a first stage of interstate travellers able to visit from the 17th of June and restrictions on interstate travel further easing by the 20th of July, we can’t wait to see some of our friends from all over the country back in the Barossa again. Please do visit as there’s so many new experiences here at Moorooroo and in the Barossa at large.

If you’re heading to the Cellar Door we encourage you to call 08 8563 1148 to make a booking.

Pruning of Lotties Vineyard underway!

In Bottle

2009 Dolce Far Nitente

Free from fortification or botrytis, Dolce is a softly sweet dessert wine that smells of raisins and tastes like honey. It has a gorgeous, mellow, almost nutty finish that allows it to work beautifully as a cheese wine and a pair to sweet desserts.

After 7 years barrel maturation this golden elixir has been with us for 4 years. With just 28 bottles left in stock we’re ready to say goodbye, are you?

If you’d like to secure some of the last of this very special wine, hit the link.

We cannot thank you enough for your continued support.

Stay safe!
